Workshop Leader Curriculum Vitae
09/2018 – 10/2019 Channing School London
LAMDA Teacher
I taught weekly acting lessons in small groups of 12-14 year olds, all working towards LAMDA acting exams. Throughout the year I directed their pieces, planned the sessions as set out by the scheme of work and provided written and verbal feedback to make sure they were fully prepared for their examinations. All my pupils received a Merit or Distinction pass rate in their examinations.
06/2018 – 12/2019 The Creative Speech Company London
Co-Director
Along with my business partner I ran The Creative Speech Company, a company which provided LAMDA tuition in primary and secondary schools around London as well as private sessions. We recruited and trained our teachers, liased with schools and did all the admin for the lessons and exams as well as taught the full LAMDA syllabus in our own schools.
01/2018 – 03/2018 Graeae Theatre Company London
Workshop Leader
I worked in a team to run a residency in an inner-city SEN London school where we provided a 10 week programme for children, who most were non-verbal or wheelchair bound. The workshops covered drama, music, puppetry, movement and story-telling and culminated in a final performance to their friends and family.
07/2017 – Present The Showstoppers Group London
Singing and Drama Teacher
Every school holiday I teach either group singing or drama for 3-14 year olds. During singing classes I work on basic harmony skills, group and solo singing, rhythm and introduce them to a range of repertoire.
In the drama classes we work from scripts as well as improvisation focusing on story telling, movement skills, and character development.
01/2017 – 12/2019 Theatretrain (Camden) London
Centre Director
After teaching drama and singing for Theatretrain Camden and Mill Hill for two years I took over as Centre Director at Theatretrain Camden. My duties now include recruiting teachers, training them, organizing shows and rehearsals and being the first port of call for all staff, pupils and parents as well as still teaching drama and writing our local shows.
I taught group singing and solo work during my time as Theatretrain Mill Hill’s singing teacher. I prepared them for performances at prestigious venues, such as The Royal Albert Hall and Theatre Royal Drury Lane as well as smaller venues and in-house showcases.
09/2016 – 07/2018 Watford Grammar School for Girls Watford
LAMDA Teacher and Centre Coordinator
Speech and drama teacher for 11-18 year olds for 1-2-1 sessions and small groups, teaching the full array of subjects offered by LAMDA. During my time at WGGS I entered over 100 pupils for LAMDA examinations with a 100% pass rate of merit-distinction grades; my top mark being 98%.
As the designated Centre Coordinator at the school I organized the exams, performances and was the contact for parents and the examining body.
